Who We Are
WHY VOLUNTEER FOR JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT (JA)? Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed. Our volunteers share their life and career experience and prepare our youth for the future by teaching our proven lessons that promote financial literacy, work and career readiness, and business ownership.
WHAT DOES JA OFFER? We offer curriculum throughout the Coulee Region to youth in grades k-12 and the lessons are connected to each grade levels curriculum.
- Elementary programs consist of five 45-minute lessons that volunteers deliver in the classroom.
- Middle and High School offerings are more varied and can involve teaching lessons in the classroom or volunteering for a one-day event.
- Areas we currently work in include: La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen, West Salem, La Crescent, Bangor, Sparta and Tomah.
HOW DOES IT WORK? We provide a 1 hour virtual volunteer preparation session and additional resources to prepare our volunteers. We match volunteers with teachers in the Coulee Region and allow you to work with them to determine a schedule that works well for both. Volunteers are provided with well-appointed kits and/or digital resources that are used to teach each lesson
