Down Syndrome Association of WI Greater La Crosse Area

Who We Are

First, a little Down Syndrome awareness: At birth, babies have 46 chromosomes. About one in every seven hundred newborns has an extra copy of chromosome 21. These unique individuals grow to become vital members of society and community organizations. Our association, founded by families in 1990, now has over 800 volunteers and staff members. We continue our mission of empowering those with Down Syndrome and other disabilities. Fundraisers provide crucial funds to support our families. DSAW offers awareness, education, information, free family events, programs, services, and opportunities for the exchange of ideas and life experiences.

How Volunteers Help

From setup and registration to activity coordination and cleanup, every helping hand makes a difference! Volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with others, support a great cause, and be part of something truly special. We would love to have you on board if you're interested in contributing your time and energy. Together, we can create an unforgettable experience for everyone!
